Self-Hypnosis D.A.S.H. Works and it ANCHORS you
There is a relatively new approach to eliminating limiting behaviors or enhancing and boosting up performance in less then a few minutes a day. And it doesn’t cost anything t do it.
I am talking about a method of self hypnosis that some hypnotists refer to as “Dynamically Anchored Self Hypnosis” or D.A.S.H. and it is very simple and easy to use. The technique on the other hand is so powerful and effective that the results of “D.A.S.H.-ing” provide effects of a long and ongoing hypnotherapy.
D.A.S.H. is so simple that it can easily be mistaken for a gimmick or a self inflicted joke. However it has sound theoretical basis and more importantly a proven track record. It can be used to eliminate or reduce problem behaviors or unpleasant emotions or to enhance virtually any kind of performance you desire, including the very act of desiring.
Ok, enough theory, let’s see how it works:
D.A.S.H. is done in a fully awake state. It involves a series of prescribed actions. Although it is not what most people think of as hypnosis, it conforms to the definition of hypnosis by the US Department of Education Human Services Division which states that hypnosis is:
“The bypass of the critical factor of the conscious mind, followed by the establishment of selective acceptable thoughts.” Go figure!
In other words it works by joining your will power with the power of your subconscious mind.
D.A.S.H. is usually given as a take home assignment to reinforce progress made in an individual session of hypnotherapy, but in virtually all cases it is just as effective as a “stand alone” technique for bringing about any desired change.
HOW TO D.A.S.H.
I will now teach you the basic format of D.A.S.H and explain it’s concept upon which you can develop the D.A.S.H as you see fit for you.
First we have a phase that deals with your intent. This helps you concentrate on the result you want to achieve. We can call the phase a PRE-D.A.S.H.
- State your intent! (You can use a positive affirmation and it has to be in the present tense. Present tense is important because your mind doesn’t know the difference between past, present and future)What do you want to accomplish? State it positively (not what you don’t want or want to stop, but what you want instead).
Specifically state in what situations? with whom? when? AND IN PRESENT TENSE.
Examples: “I am a confident bus driver.” Write it out so it sticks with you firmly.
Use “I am”, “I have”, “I do”, “I can”
Establish affirmations (statements of beliefs, attitudes or behavior patterns, or the goal itself) that support the achievement of your objective. For each intent or goal there are a number of appropriate affirmations; D.A.S.H. at least three of them.
Affirmations are best stated as a choice and in the present tense. For example, “I choose to be calm and confident in front of an audience”, “I choose to speak with clarity and enthusiasm.”
- Gather four coins, two coins each of different denominations (pennies and nickels in this example will do just perfectly). Yes, Yes, I know this looks like you are preparing for a spell casting activity but bare with me. There are no spells here, no candles no chanting. You need the coins so you can focus on what you are doing. You can use two forks and two spoons too. It doesn’t matter really.
- Place them in front of you, one of each on the right and one of each on the left, where you can comfortably pick them up and put them down. So go ahead, put a nickel and a penny on your left and a nickel and a penny on your right.
- Now focus on your right hand and say either in a loud voice or under your breath
”I CHOOSE TO PICK UP THIS NICKEL” (Pick it up!)
”I CHOOSE TO ‘state your affirmation’”
”I CHOOSE TO PICK UP THIS PENNY AND THIS NICKEL”Now repeat this sequence with your left hand. Pick up the coins on your left hand side just as you did with your right hand.
Let’s move on:
Now focus on your right hand again and announce the following to yourself:
”I CHOSE TO PICK UP AND NOW I AM HOLDING THIS PENNY”
”I CHOSE TO PICK UP AND NOW I AM HOLDING THIS NICKEL”
”I CHOSE TO AND NOW I ‘state your affirmation’”
”I CHOSE TO PICK UP AND NOW I AM HOLDING THIS PENNY AND THIS NICKEL”Now repeat this sequence with your left hand.
Let’s move on again:
Focus on your right hand and say:
”I CHOOSE TO PUT DOWN THIS PENNY”
”I CHOOSE TO PUT DOWN THIS NICKEL”
”I CHOOSE TO RELEASE ALL OBSTACLES TO ‘state your affirmation’”
”I CHOOSE TO PUT DOWN THIS PENNY AND THIS NICKEL”Now repeat this for the left hand.
IMMEDIATELY at the end of the sequence put all the four coins down.
That’s it. The whole procedure should take less then five minutes.
Repeat the process with each affirmation you desire. You may D.A.S.H. on several affirmations related to the same issue at a single sitting, but only D.A.S.H. one issue or problem area at a time. D.A.S.H. at least twice a day, morning and at night for a week! Expect results!
As with any technique, I can’t say this will work for you specifically, for every issue, but it takes less than five minutes to know for sure.
This is a simplified version of D.A.S.H. Depending on your personality you can develop D.A.S.H further.
I will write about D.A.S.H. more extensively in the future.
I know what I’ll be doing tonight and for the next week
! BTW, just discovered your blog…very nice!

Great comments… did you now know that they believe that the subconscious ‘processing’ is about 1 million times more powerful that the conscious mind… Its no wonder that hypnosis and self-hypnosis do such a great job at ‘changing your mind’!
